Mike Teaches: Hitting, Infield, Outfield, Baserunning and Mental
Former Major League player, Former Cal State Fullerton TITAN, Team USA alum, North woods league MVP & All Decade Team....... Mike Rouse was called up to the Major Leagues with the Oakland A's making his debut in legendary Yankee stadium. Rouse went 3 for 3 facing Randy Johnson in his debut leading the Athletics to victory over the New York Yankees. Over his Major League career, Rouse played for 3 organizations (A's, Indians, White Sox) providing a solid glove and bat while playing primarily Short Stop and also playing Second Base, and Third Base. Rouse was awarded Professional Player of the year by the Santa Clara County Hot Stove. Professional: After playing his first season in Class A advanced in the Florida State league beginning his professional career with a home run in his first at-bat, he was sent to AA Knoxville to fill the Shortstop role. Rouse completed a successful season in AA and was awarded a spot in the prestigious Arizona Fall League playing Short Stop for the Grand Canyon Rafters. At the end of the fall he was traded for pitcher major league pitcher Corey Lidle to the Oakland A's. After batting .302 Rouse was promoted to AAA where he had a successful season winning the Pacific a Coast League championship and receiving yet another champioship ring. That fall Rouse was named to the USA Olympic qualifier team as the Short Stop leading off the batting order and batting .414. The following season Rouse was name the number 8 top prospect on in the Oakland A's organization and was named to the major league roster for the remainder of most of his career. Cal State Fullerton Titans: Rouse, who holds a Degree in Communications, became a Titan in 2000 and fulfilled one of his many childhood dreams, being a TITAN. Mike Played Short Stop for the 2001, #1 nationaly ranked Titans who would find themselves in the NCAA College World Series. His first college summer Rouse played in the Northwoods League where he Battted .381 and swiped a league record 42 bases. The Next Summer after playing Short Stop for the Brewster Whitecaps and winning the Cape Cod League Championship and receiving a ring, Rouse entered his last season at CSUF batting .377 with 12 home runs before being awarded The team MVP and The Tim Wallach award, he was also awarded all Big West Conference honors. During his time at CSUF Rouse was awarded an invite to the USA national team as an infielder. Rouse went on to be drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 5th round. High School: While lettering in baseball all four years of High School, Rouse was selected All CIF Short Stop each of those four years. Rouse batted was awarded ALL STATE honors his Junior and Senior year where hit hit .531. Rouse Played for the Colorado Rockies scout team and The nationally recognized Norcal Baseball Club. He was a multi-sport athlete lettering in football and was also recruited by multiple colleges while serving his high school as the Quarterback.
